New Tyres Upgrade
Hi guys I have a boardman hybrid team and I need a tyre change. It has vittoria zaffiro 700x28c and I was looking for an upgraded tyre. I want something that is fast with a good level of protection.

I can't recommend Conti tires because of their paper thin sidewalls are too susceptible to fatal damage, and for the cost of those tires and that sort of damage is just not a tire I recommend.

Those are the reasons I swithched from continentals (too many costly sidewall failures, one time in less than 100 miles). I tried Mitchelin Krylion Carbons which became PRo 4 Endurance and I've been very happy. Laterally I've used the Pro4 SC and Powers too in the vein hope of gaining more speed
(Tbh there's not noticeably faster than the Pro 4 Endurance)
@OP do you have a budget? Some good tyres out there but can be at a price!
Hutchinson Sector 32c. Can be run tubeless. Fast and comfy. Designed for the cobbles so perfect for UK roads.
Take a look at this website where you can compare different tyres and make an informed decision. Asking any cyclist, including me, which rubber is best will usually get you a very subjective opinion.
Another committed Voyager Hyper fan here.
Used for commuting for 4 or 5 years. My trip has 35 sets of lights/sprints between lights and they ard fast even in 35mm.
I also have them fitted to my tourer for doing LEJOG in a few weeks time.
If you can get the 32mm version they look a bit less enormous than the 35.
loads of choice cos your frame takes anything up to 40mm..if you like the vittorias..perhaps rubino pro's in 28mm..hard to find now since vittoria put graphene in the newer range though..my call would be for more air..35mm hyper voyagers £15 each..they'll fit your bike (i use one for commuting) and are quick..good value..used the larger size on my boardman..2 flats in 3500 miles

voyager hyper is a good call at £15
4000s 28mm measure 31mm wide so be careful if your frame has tight clearances.
Continental Grand Prix GT. Basically a GP4000 with tougher sidewalls but Poly-X puncture protection instead of vectran. I'm not sure that's a deal breaker though as I've had way more punctures on 4 Seasons (double vectran) than I have on my Grand Prix GTs.
