Scam replies on classified ads on forum?
Morning all. I have a pair of forks for sale on the classifieds sction (not a stealth ad!) and have had one of the scam replies offering to pay via cheque, courier to collect, extra monies to be paid back etc. etc. which have been mentioned before from someone calling themselves Xavier River. I've responded telling them I'm not interested, but just a word of warning to anyone who has not heard that this is a scam of sorts!

Very old scam.
You pay back the extra money and send the goods. The cheque is either then cancelled or does not clear. Leaving you well out of pocket.
If Xavier River is indeed genuine, then I apologise for my comment. However either his account/name has been hacked or he is not a genuine buyer - either way, I for one won't be selling to anyone who responds to an advert like that
This place is a nightmare for scammers hence why i dont advertise on here anymore
