One too many of these popping up on this site for my liking so I'm gone
Alwayz in r hartz m8.
Yeah had it twice today and only on this site.
Hijacks to William Hill betting app earlier in week and just got a phony competion titled 'satisfaction-survey' by opening this page.
It has returned, my page just got hijacked with a phoney virus warning.
I thought this problem was sorted but, it seems to have returned. This time claiming to be from Facebook newsfeed and asking you to complete a survey.
Yep, same here, looked like this on my phone
Fake Facebook survey.png
Seems much better now. Thanks.
Seconded.
morning all. how's everyone getting on with the ads? a few things have changed since the end of last week that should have knocked at least most of the random ads out. keep us updated if you're still seeing them
The thing I really dont understand about this is that this is the ONLY site I visit on my phone that has these problems. No other site hijacks my phone to the Play Store or serves up hoax popups.
You have to be honest here. You guys must be employing the lower end of the ad serve market to have shit like this appearing on your site.
Ive had a similar thing happen on iPhone, too. But in fairness to road.cc, it's not just them: you should try visiting the Bristol Post website on a phone, it's a complete waste of time!
And the Bristol Post website has loads of adverts as well.
I find Firefox, NoScripts and AdBlock does the trick. Luckly it also prevents the comments loading on Bristol Post.
it's a constant process and we're working with our ad supplier to weed them out. there's a couple of things that we're implementing over the next few weeks that should have an effect. the reports really do help us, so please keep reporting ads if and when you see them
I'd suggest Road.cc revisit their advertising partner / platform. Appreciating that a living needs to be made, it appears that the website has little to no control as to what adverts are being placed on the site.
Me too.
I am certain Road CC will want rid of them. Just don't know if they are able.
I've reported the spam a couple of times to Road.cc but not sure if it will have any affect.
David
I've had similar pop ups on my phone- not virus, but fake competitions, claims to have accessed illegal material etc. As others say, it's not possible to capture the rogue code.
Yes me too. Please sort it.
Twice this morning. Presumably a hoax message, but not a good one to be on the site.
Me too, found nothing. If anyone's wondering, Malwarebytes is a good app for checking for malware on Android, they're a very reputable outfit.
Me too.
Me too, I scanned my phone for malware and found nothing so I think it's just Road.cc being crap.
Me too, last few days. Takes over the page so can't do a screengrab that would capture the ad code.
Same here on here today
Yes, last couple of days I get this popup or similar: https://imgur.com/a/qm9vD
Adverts in-page I can handle, but not anything that hijacks my screen.
