Shimano RS685 Vs Ultegra 6800 lever shapes

I currently ride 6800 shifters on my summer bike and am looking at a disc winter bike with RS685 levers.

I know the bits at the end are higher. That is not a problem. Is the length of the lever (where you rest your thumb and forefinger finger any longer, thus changing the reach?

My commute/winter bike has 105 5800 levers (I guess fairly comparable to 6800 levers) and my Canyon has RS685's.

I can't say I noticed any difference in the reach, I only noticed the larger diameter of the shifters. I think any increase in the reach is not particularly noticeable.
