    Hi!

I’m in Bangor for the day and I was hoping someone could give me a couple of routes to do?
Looking for a couple hours or so rides that are flattish.
Was hoping to head towards Anglesey.

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks a lot! Nope, not headed there yet so definitely not too late 🙂

    Great.

When you said “for the day” I assumed you meant on the day you posted.

Hope you enjoy it, the island is a great place to ride a bike.

This might be a bit late now

This might be a bit late now but in case you expect to go there again…

Firstly, if starting in Bangor I’d ride across the suspension bridge, not the Britannia (A55).

A south loop ~40 miles: out of Menai Bridge go past Waitrose and then at the RAB by Shell garage go left along the A5 through Llanfairpwll & Gaerwen, then as the road drops down into Pentre Berw turn left onto B4419 through Llangaffo. Turn right onto A4080 in Newborough. Follow this round through Llanfaelog (pop to Rhosneigr if time allows), rejoin the A5 for a straightforward run back to Menai Bridge. This road is quiet now as the A55 takes all the through traffic.

A north-ish loop ~30 miles: once over the bridge go right and through Menai Bridge to Beaumaris. Turn left opposite the Bulkeley Arms in Beaumaris, up the hill and follow the B5109 to Pentraeth. Cross the main road and continue on B5109 to Llangefni. Return via the A5 or Penmynydd routes above. To add ~10 miles: in Llangefni go west up the hill then turn left, cross the A5 at Rhostrehwfa and follow the B4422 to Bethel. Turn left as you leave Bethel and follow the A4080, turning left in Newborough, to do the reverse the first part of the south loop above.
