Perhaps not the most 'elegant' solution, but the Topeak cover works well. You can buy extra bar mounts so you can move it between bikes.

Must say its a work phone and case. It must have fallen about 6 meters to give you an indication of protection. I was very supprised that it still lived if I am truthful.
Quad lock, secure on the bike, I can attest that it does stay attached even after an accident. Also case is robust for multiple drops in normal day to day use. 15 months in and worth every penny.
stopped using quadock when my phone got saturated in road spray. only put the garmin on the front that is designed to be waterproof.
but it was certainly solid and reliable at keeping the phone in place.
