I’ve recently bought a Felt tk2 track bike secondhand, my query is that the rear track ends are recessed by about 8mm which means the wheel nuts are difficult to get a spanner on, is there supposed to be some other part in the recess that I don’t have? In the advertising it mentions ‘integrated chain tensioners’!?

Yes, exactly that, the wheel
Yes, exactly that, the wheel nuts are inset as if there should be something behind them, when I read the Felt write up it mentions integrated chain tensioners, which confirmed in my mind that something is missing, I found them on BMX sites, but cannot find anything else, are they needed?
