Commuter cycling

Have your say

We have been commissioned by the British Council for Offices to undertake some new research into Cycling and the Workplace. A similar piece of work was undertaken in 2012 but the market has moved on and this study will be more detailed and have greater geographic coverage.

We are focusing the research on office buildings and the nature of cycling infrastructure provided within them. We will look into the general rise in cycling, commuting cycling in particular, and what cities are doing to influence improved cycling facilities within office buildings. We will also look at the market and the issues the industry has faced, or is facing, trying to incorporate (or not) good cycling facilities into new and old buildings.

We would appreciate it if you could spend a small amount of your time to complete the survey via the link below.

Survey link: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/TheMarketCycles

It shouldn’t take more than 5-10min of your time, and you don’t have to answer all the questions – only the ones relevant to you.

The data will be kept anonymous. However, if you are aware of good case studies, or would be interested in attending the launch events later in the year, we would love to hear from you, so please either leave your details at the end of the survey or e-mail us via: miquela.bezuidenhoudt [at] remitconsulting.com

^ Indeed. Neil's reply is rather disingenuous, as his firm is no doubt being paid for the work they are undertaking. I work in a property role and recognise the members of the BCO as being part of or involved in the property world. Free surveys I do for students/charities.

I think that njwebster was saying that his clients, BCO (British Council for Offices), who commissioned the survey are a members organisation. I don't think that he claimed that the Consulting Company running the survey wasn't commercial

sorry to question your posts njwebster, but the email you give is remitconsulting.com.  Isn't that, in any way a commercial organisation?  The website looks as though it is meant to make some money.

Last question: I will often combine my cycle commute with a car journey, OR train OR underground. The survey only allows one response.

Question 1 doesn't cover my industry.

Next page:

"Does good cycling provision add value in the marketing and/or letting of a building?"

Er, pardon?

"Does good cycling provision improve investment yields?"

I don't think I'm your target audience so for that reason I'm out.

sorry about that, we tried to keep it tight

The survey is in two parts. The first is for commuter cyclists and the second for the property industry. Commuter cyclists can finish after the first section. Sorry for the confusion. Neil

Surely then it should be two separate surveys? I can't see that there is going to be a big enough overlap of the two groups to warrant it all being in the same survey.

When I fill in a commercial survey, I insist on a charitable donation being made. Are you offering?

We aren't I'm afraid given that we aren't a commercial survey. BCO is a members organisation. I understand if you dont wish to complete it. Neil
