On this site we see a lot of, what seem, insufficient sentences when cyclists get hit by cars. Here is one where the victim was walking.

We have a driver who drove at a pedestrian and then came back to knock her down.

What does the driver get? A two year suspended sentence (plus a two year driving ban and a restraining order).

If you can get away with a suspended sentence when you drive into someone on purpose, what chance to cyclists have of getting something more for dangerous/careless driving?

That sounds distinctly like

That sounds distinctly like attempted murder. And it’s certainly grevious bodily harm. And yet she gets (in effect) let off with a suspended sentence. How can that be? Why hasn’t the CPS appealed the sentence? And why hasn’t the judge been suspended from duties and ordered to go on a refresher course?

Don’t know the full facts but what a load of rubbish sentencing- send a message of how you can get away with attempted murder.
