I’ve seen lots of posts about tyres, brakes, wheels, pedals, shoes, helmets, groupset a, etc, etc. Nobody seems to have an opinion about cables.
On my commuter I re cable every 2 years or so depending on how scruffy they look. It has exterior cabling. My TCR is now needing some new cables. It’s full internal cable (mechanical gears) and has a brand name on it. I’m familiar with the ‘how’ but never done an internal run before. (Also, yes I can tape bars)
My questions are
– Is one brand better than another for internal cables? I know they tend to supply different grommets and such.
– any tips to getting the cable through the frame? The original cable had a slight tendency to rattle on bumpy roads, if I can I’d like to try and reduce or resolve this.
