Thanks, all. Reckon I'll find something now.
I use sportive.com for UK and European sportives but if you are looking for north American events (I travel to Canada a lot) then granfondo.com is good for there.
Er.. have I misread something, Shirley there's only one main site for all sportifs, must have 95% of all 'sportives' on it.. https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/
However agree http://www.aukweb.net for more self sufficient type rides (and Audax obvs).
BC is definitely worth checking out - especially for info on racing - but it only lists UK events, and it doesn't cover even half of UK sportives (or 'sportifs' if you prefer the wrong french word )
Aukweb is also excellent, the definitive site for audax.
UKCE obviously only lists UKCE-run events, although granted they are the biggest organiser of sportives in the UK so you'll find plenty there.
Cyclosport used to be the only sportive-focused site around, it still has an OK calendar feature (albeit patchy for 2017 at present), and regular sportive-related press releases.
Sportive.com - comprehensive calendar listing not only UK sportives but also many of the big European ones - Marmotte, Etape, Flanders etc etc - together with ride reports from each, kit reviews and news.
Sportivescene.co.uk - now apparently defunct
Granfondoguide.com - plenty of content, decent UK sportive calendar
there may be others!
sportive.com (www.sportive.com) has a fairly comprehensive events calendar for UK and Europe. You can search by postcode to find sportives near you.

Try UK Cycling Events or even Wiggle - events
