Ultegra pedals or r540 pedals?
Which pedals ? Are ultegra pedals worth 4x the price of r540 s? They certainly look better. I'm just too stingy to see how I can justify buying them even though I really want them. Are ultegra s gripper in the wet than the sometimes slippery r540?

I have the 550's and had them for a few years and mine have been fine.
R550 does look good cheers
What about the r550's nearly the same as 105 but cheaper and just as good and better than the 540's.
100% this.
I had the R540's as an introduction to clipless whuch were fine but the R550's are way better.
Only difference I can see between them & the 105's are they are slightly heavier.
Bikeradar's review of the R540 says:
"they work in exactly the same fashion as the company’s much pricier models, but without the lighter, more exotic materials."
Which is exactly what I'd expect.
