I'm thinking up of getting a cycle group together based out of Penarth.
Any interest?
I'd like to think I'll get into Cardiff a few times a week to join a club in the city but in reality rides closer to home make more senses.

I think they did, from memory back in the 70s/80s... haven't seen one for years though, our current milkman uses a standard van, albeit hybrid.

I believe that straight forks that are used on carbon frames are more dangerous than the old steel forks because they are more rigid, the old steel...

That's true enough. But doesn't address my point that the chainset you get as a replacement will not physically fit chainrings from the chain set...

A BC club search will uncover most of them.
Barry - try asking Stone House Bikes on Facebook.
Llantwit - pop into Forza Cycles and chat to the lad there (epic bike pron, btw).
The pub in St Hilary has a club too, though IIRC their meeting point is somewhere else, not in the village.
Plus the LBS will probably know who rides locally.
(I haven't ridden in the Vale for a while, but always try to meet up with at least one group while I'm visiting family.)
