Not a cycling route, but the path from the Mirador above Soller to Cala Tuent is a terrific walk, after descending to Ballitx d'abaye (I think), it climbs to a little col and then goes along a cliff by the sea to Cala Tuent. Could be a family walk
lovely place, have a great time

No problem. Enjoy yourself.
In the mountains there is pretty much one road you can take, therefore getting lost is unlikely. However it is worth plotting routes to follow when dropping to the flatter south. There is a good network of smaller roads which have limited sign postage meaning one wrong turn and you could go on for miles before realising.
If you really are limited for time then heading west through Deia is fantastic. The has some stunning views and at times seems to hang off the edge of cliffs. Puig Major, being the biggest climb on the island, is a must do but be warned hitting it from a standing start will be hard.
There are loads of other routes and rides, after planning & riding the routes for my clubs annual spring break for three years now i have covered lots of the island!
wow thanks for the detail....cant wait now!!
Being based in Soller the only way out is UP, so make sure you account for a good climb straight off the bat in your daily schedule. Also, Soller being a port town (pretty much so) you only have three directions to travel.
South, out over the Col d Soller drop down towards Bunyola then enjoy a bit of flat around Santa Maria before heading back over the Col d Soller to your base. If you want a climbing day then you could hook north at Santa Maria for the Col d Orient & Col d Honour before dropping down to Bunyola and heading back over to Soller.
West, take the road out and through Deia which eventually takes you to a junction where you turn south to Valdemossa. A cracking descent from Valdemossa before tracking East to Bunyola and then over the Col d Soller to get home.
East, as already noted get on the MA-10 for the ascent of Puig Major, carry on through the two tunnels (past the lakes) then turn left for Sa Calobra and another testing climb. Back the same way. This may be a bit much for a 2 hour blast (Puig Major will take you an hour, Sa Calobra the best part of).
If you have the chance for a long ride i really would say that South over the Col d Soller then track east to Caimari. From Caimari climb the Col de sa Batalla then start to head west again on the MA-10. You have a Sa Calobra option or carry on to tackle the Puig Major from the southern side. A long descent in to Soller will finish off your day.
Not sure when you are going, but if you decide to hit Sa Calobra be careful of the tourist coaches. Also Sa Calobra can be like a furnace in the summer sun so stock up on fluids before climbing.
Have fun
Must do: Port de Soller, over Puig Major & on to Sa Calobra & back. Simple navigation, 75km, 2500m climbing.
I also highly recommend following the coast road West to Port de Valldemossa. The road down to the port is pretty spectacular and there is a nice restaurant at the port.
