Re-using Innertubes

Hi all, I’ve just bought myself a pair of the customary Conti GP IIs and wondered if I absolutely have to change my innertubes at the same time?  I’ve had no punctures on my existing set, therefore don’t see any reason to change them as well.  Am I missing something?

Bad idea.  The bump caused by the patch will make the bike fly into the air and you will crash.

Hence why patches are not allowed in the pro peleton.

What are inner tubes? Didn’t they die out with LPs and coal 😀 Tubeless :)

Surely you use fresh air to pump the tyres up every ride though?

Every couple of weeks. Use stans tape and stans sealant, good performance!

Didn’t you know?? LPs are back! It’s the new-old 33 revolution.

I knew the kool kids were buying vinyl again (even if they didn’t actually possess a gramophone…) but I was a bit shocked, and slightly saddened, when I saw my local Sainsburys now also stocks vinyl. Suddenly my Ultravox LP collection just doesn’t seem quite so cool anymore.

    This means nothing to me…

Yep they’re the right size, just thought it might be something that people recommend doing whenever you change tyres, bearing in mind I’ve had my tyres/tubes on for 2 years.

Judging by the other (hilarious) responses however I’ll take it that I don’t need to 🙂

Good crickey! I wouldn’t even risk re-inflating an inner tube. Fresh pair every ride.
