I’m looking for a good quality rain jacket that is waterproof and is reasonably breathable. It has to be pacakble (jersey pocket), but does not have to be warm.

What rain jacket are you using? Is it any good? Would you buy it again?

    Many thanks

    +1 on the Galibier Tourmalet.

+1 on the Galibier Tourmalet. Excellent bit of kit, and galibier fantastic to deal with. I have a lot of their stuff based on price/quality. You get good kit for a good price because they sell direct.

    I’ve got a few

    I’ve got a few

Sportful Hot Pack No Rain Stretch (very packable, very waterproof, reasonably breathable – great in an emergency)

Castelli Pave Event jacket (pretty packable, very waterproof, the most breathable jacket I’ve used) – also bought for £110 from Evans in recent sale, although it’s too expensive at RRP.

Have also tried Goretex Active shell (not quite breathable enough for me), and the new Sportful Fiandre Extreme in Polatec Neoshell fabric (very good, but I was between sizes and it was more of a ‘wear all day jacket’ rather than a typical shell jacket, and the lining looked like it’d retain any moisture build up).

Otherwise I’m in a Gabba or Sportful No Rain light top – they keep the worst off  but breathe well.

    I use the galilber tourmalet

I use the galilber tourmalet looks like gore tex acts like gore tex, breathable and waterproof, its not totally packable but I can stuff it in my jersey. I would buy it again its one of the best bits of kit I’ve got. 58 quid no brainer.
