TfL consultation

What do people think of the proposals here:

http://www.tfl.gov.uk/east-west-consult

I think that the shared space for general traffic turning left and cycle track (eg section 1) is a lethal accident waiting to happen - both will assume they have priority.

Adding colour to the cycle track would be an improvement, I suppose in shared turn left space if the colour stopped, it might help cyclists realise that the cycle track is effectively disappearing for a bit.

I'm not sure about the two stage right turn (eg section 2) either. Very interested to hear others' views on this before responding.

I don't use it, but I hear that the two stage turn on CS2 hasn't been that successful. It's still quite new, but It seems it adds too much delay so people prefer to mix with the motor traffic.

The right way to handle it on those major junctions is the simultaneous green/cycle scramble. I think the infrastructure people are still scratching their heads trying to work out how to make those legal in the UK.
