F***ING AUTOPLAY ADS!!!!!
Just stop it. Please. I'm sitting having a quiet moment reading the latest stories and some stupid American woman starts shouting at me about what's wrong with way I eat. I know you need to run adverts but these are brutal.

Except that air mixed with CO is, er, air, since there's no fixed definition of the constituent makeup of air - it's just the mix of gases around us.

I think they did, from memory back in the 70s/80s... haven't seen one for years though, our current milkman uses a standard van, albeit hybrid.

Thanks for explaining Dave. Of course I don't expect the site to be both subscription free and ad free and that's why I've never installed one of those ad blockers that the first comment recommends. I usually browse the site on my phone and find that the audio from these ads starts up while the actual ad is some way down the page from my screen. If it's an article with a lot of comments I can have to scroll down a long, long way to find it. If and when it happens again I'll try to take the time to give you more info.
that being said, we don't want intrusive ads on the site, so if you see autoplay ones that are annoying, let us know. they come through third party networks.
*that* being said, don't just go "AAARGH F***ING AUTOPLAY ADS" because that doesn't help us to block them: actually tell us what they are. Ta!
But how much would you pay for an ad-free version of road.cc?
There's no such thing as a free lunch (though I agree about animated ads, I find them very distracting).
+1 for AdBlock, get's rid of all the rubbish. Road.cc does look quite bare without all the adds!
Regrettably there are too many adverts on many sites. I rooted my phone and installed a comprehensive adblocker. Now I have problems looking for the articles on a mainly blank screen
