Cycle clothing costs

Returning to cycling after a few years out of the saddle, purchased an MTB (Trek calibre 9) over a year ago and recently a road bike (Trek Emonda 5S). Next was clothing and wow :O :O what an increase in cost. I understand cycling has become more fashionable and trendy, with an improvement in technology but the associated price hike is huge. I know, before someone types ‘you get what you pay for’, but £300+ for a water proof jacket, is overkill. More last years colours/styles for me as cost outweighs fashion and the must have I’m afraid

You have plenty of choice at various price points nowadays.
£300 is indeed stupid for any piece of cycle clothing but you can get good kit from e.g DHB, Altura, Endura, Decathlon for much less. It’ll often do the job just as well.
