Di2 Ultegra blocking shift patterns

I have an Ultegra Di2 10 speed setup on my SuperSix, and I just installed the D-fly unit to communicate with my Garmin. I saw a video on YouTube where the D-fly was being installed and the mechanic stated he was able to prevent Big/Big and Small/Small shift patterns, but didn't provide any details or instructions. My mechanic wasn't able to or was unaware of this possibility. Has anyone out there been able to do this? Can you post instructions if it is possible. I have the latest firmware installed.
