Just thought I’d put up a welcome thread.

Hi, like iUpham I mostly ride alone, taking in the scenery and daydreaming. Plenty of clubs in and around Edinburgh, although I’m not a member of one due a newish family and the other half’s shift patterns so I haven’t got as many opportunities to get out as often I would like.kwi

You, Sir, overestimate me in sooooo many ways.

I would love to commit to a rideout this side of the Irish Sea but I’m being made redundant on 31st July so am unsure what my plans are going to be regards when and where I will be working. But if a rideout is organised and i can make it I will- trying to look on the bright side of having forced time off in August since I will then get the miles in. The route followed by the Billy Kerr Sportive might provide a decent spin out- (though I will be dropped within the first 10km and might as well be doing it on my own!).

Yeah, I suppose you’re right.
Yeah, I suppose you’re right. Mind you, a wee tour round the glens and drop down into Carnlough or the likes for an ice cream 😀 There’s also a decent coffee shop in Glenarm and you get to cover some of the roads used in the Tour of Ulster.kwi
I just feel the Causeway
I just feel the Causeway coast is sportifed to death, though I run a Caravan park in Cushendall and could probably sort out my glamping pods as accommodation for those further travelled if the timing is right. (ie NOT July or August.)

Though I’m currently in Scotland. I do go home pretty regularly and if the local lads are happy for me to join them if and when dates suit I would be in. The Causeway Coast and Torr Headwould be good or a wee bit inland round Slemish, Kells and Ballymeana. The Sperrins is another option and of course Spelga and Silent Valley. And that’s before you even consider the West Coast and Avoca and the likes. So much choice for a wee island.kwi
Hi Elaine, blimey not much
Hi Elaine, blimey not much past Cork from my direction. Would happily travel to a ride out on the west coast for a change of scenery, though my neck of the woods (Antrim coast.) is quite popular.ecurtin
Hello Irish road.cc members
Hello Irish road.cc members and welcome!Elaine here, team road.cc club manager ( and from Cork no less!) – would you like to organise a ride out? Please let me know how many of you would go along and and your top three locations and we’ll co-ordinate something.

UpInTheHills, welcome! The argyle is great and really easy to spot out on the road… I’ve bumped into a few fellow club members who I’ve met due to my socks!
There is plans for Member ride outs… The next one will be from Hargroves Cycles in Totton into the wonderful New Forest on the 19th of July.

Based in Northumberland and Not a member of a club. Have enough politics going on around me to need to deal with it after work.Ride mostly solo on mostly empty roads in the most un populated county in England. Its bliss. Quite like the Argyll and fancied some free socks and the crack.
Surpose I half want to join a club and think that a closed Strava section would be interesting from a motivation point of view.
If there was the interest there could be a club ride out once or twice a year which would get a few folks togther for some riding and a few beers.

I’m in Offaly, so fairly central and don’t mind a small drive out to meet for a rideout…but don’t expect much…pretty much a ‘tail gunner charlie’..always at the rear keping the enemy at bay…lol =))kwi
