wow, thanks for the help. Yes
wow, thanks for the help. Yes i am very lucky to be able to be looking. The downside is I am now officially “middle aged”. The only thing that can possibly soften this appalling fate is shiny new wheels.

Thats a great price from Rose btw….love the bullets but think the Mavic might be edging it! 8>

OMG I’m so jealous, we’ve found that there’s sooooo many good wheels available at that price if you’ve got the budget you’re in for a treat!

Shamal Ultras, Fulcrum Wind 50s, Dura-Ace come in at that price with discounts. Even Bullet 80s or Fast Forward F2Rs are just £20 over at PBK and Evans respectively.

I just got a pair of Zipp
I just got a pair of Zipp 60’s from merlin and they’re ace. £699.95 with a set of tyres and tubes fitted (but that price is with a campag freehub). http://www.merlincycles.com/zipp-60-carbon-alloy-clincher-wheels-pair-inc-tyres-campagnolo-fitting-61693.html

But if it has to be out of those two then I’d choose the bullets.

    There’s not much difference
There’s not much difference between the two, but the Mavics are much more popular and more shops will have experience servicing them. They also come with tyres which narrows the gap in price.

For £500 or so I’d get some
For £500 or so I’d get some handbuilts from someone like Strada or Wheelsmith
