As has already been said (written) the 705, being an older model will not recognize the separate speed and cadence sensors.
I have an old Garmin speed/cadence sensor available for the price of postage if you want it.
yeah can you set the 705 to look for just a "cadence" sensor or "cad"...as opposed to a "spd/cad" sensor.
How, I can't seem to do it and its driving me nuts!
I can't vouch for your model, but from all accounts, some Garmin's only support combined speed/cadence units and not cadence only sensors. Older units don't even support Garmin's recent cadence only sensor that straps to the crank apparently.
