I’m looking to buy one of the above bikes, but wondered if people thought the extra £250 was worth paying for the cannondale. Or if i’m paying the extra £250 would it then be better to get the Giant Defy Advanced 1 which has the ultegra groupset?

I haven’t ridden many different manufacturers bikes so can’t comment on the Giant compared with the Cannondale.

Although the step-up from the 105 on my Aluxx Defy 1 to the Ultegra on my Composite Defy Advanced 1, I understand that Shimano have massively improved the 105 this year and so the quality gap between 105 and Ultegra has been greatly reduced, with weight apparently now the only real difference.

All the best with your decision. If able, perhaps ride the two and see which you like the best?
