I ordinarily ride a 56cm frame, however I have seen several 54cm that I like the look of. At 5’10” would I be able to comfortable ride a bike at 54cm?
Is anyone of 5’10” statue currently riding a 54 and could give me and idea of fit please

Not a great deal at all.

You need to take into account what stem length and how many spacers you have currently to replicate the position.

For instance if your current bike is 10mm less in S&R and your stem is sat directly on top of the headset, then with a 10mm spacer and a 10mm longer stem on the new bike will match that stack and reach.

Hopefully that’s not too confusing.

As a rule a smaller frame
As a rule a smaller frame will be better than one that is to big. I am 5′ 9″ on a good day and my older frames from various manufacturers have all been Medium. However I have just built up a Small 52 cm Planet X RT 58 carbon and it fits a treat. It handles better and is easier to get my leg over than previous bikes.

Put in your height and inseam, spits out a list of all the manufacturers and models best suited to your measurements, along with the frame size to go for.

Now I know that’s not everything to look at, but should give you a good idea if the model you’re looking at will suit you in a particular frame size.

Specialized
Reach 392mm
Stack 575mm

However I cannot find the reach and stack for my Dolan

Although I no longer own the Spesh I considered that bike a more comfortable fit and so ill will looking at how reach and stack compare to this, irrelevant of frame size

Ignore all frame sizes and
Ignore all frame sizes and look at stack and reach on their geometry charts. Frame sizes can vary dramatically. I’m 5’11 and have a 54, a couple of 56s, a 57 and even a ’58’ in my armoury.

I’m 5’10 with 33″ inside leg
I’m 5’10 with 33″ inside leg and ride a 53cm Bianchi. I find it far more comfortable than my old 56cm CAAD8.

Pretty sure you wouldn’t find it too short at least, I’m 6’2 and ride a 54 so I can vouch for that much. With a change of stem if necessary I’m sure you could make it suit your personal fit requirements. I’d say go for it.

I’m 5’10 and rode a medium Giant TCR, and it was fine. I have recently purchased a Cannondale Synapse 2015 and it is a 54″ frame. Fits like a glove. But take a test ride wherever you can as different manufacturers have different sizing charts for their bikes

Depends on the
Depends on the manufacturer.
A medium Giant TCR is classed as 50cm and is recommended for 5’10”, Lapierre recommends a 52 for 5’10”, a ML 54 Merida is about the same as a Specialized 56, I could go on and on.
If you are unable to visit a bike shop selling the brand you want you have to do your research, try to get reach and stack heights for your present bike and compare.
