Has anyone had experience of hiring road bikes in the Ecrins in France? Failing that, hiring road bikes generally in the French Alps – price etc? I got into road cycling last year and whilst I go to this area of France regularly I’ve not hired road bikes before. Headed there again this summer. Debating hiring or transporting my own bike.

There are lots of hire shops
There are lots of hire shops in Bourg d’Oisans. Not cheap mind, so if you are driving down I would be tempted to take the bike.
