It seems that Chrome is refusing to use Garmin Communicator Plugin 4.2.0.

Anyone else finding this? I’m on a Mac.

Garmin aren’t interested in fixing it. They basically say “use Safari then”. Thanks. Really helpful!

Chrome doesn’t even list the plugin.

I have a feeling it could be something to do with GCP maybe not being 64 bit. Any thoughts?

Yes, I noticed I had to upload manually yesterday, even after re-installing the plugin.

I never usually bother uploading to Garmin and go straight to Strava but maybe I’ll need to rethink now.

Yeah, Garmin Express works
Yeah, Garmin Express works fine, but I use ridewithgps.com to plan rides, and upload them to the garmin using the plugin. Looks like I’ll have to plonk the TCX file in manually. 🙁

The bizarre thing is that Garmin are getting slightly more helpful in terms of attitude but seem completely unaware that it doesn’t work with Chrome v39. Last email said “if it’s not listed in plugins, it needs installing”. Duh. Like I didn’t try that first!

As Man of Lord says above, this is where Chrome is heading along with all the other browsers sooner or later. Browser plugins are a security PITA. Sync is something everyone will have to do with background apps such as Garmin express (or increasingly via mobile instead).

Chrome is the forgotten browser, Mio’s dont work, Garmins dont work, ive given up and now just select the file to upload ;-(

It’s not new news, it was telegraphed in September 2013 to developers – hence Garmin’s shift towards Garmin Express.
