i visited Oxford last year and thought the same about the train station bike park!
yeah in Glasgow we are not really suffering from that sort of usage yet - but there are visible signs that cycling is on the up and lack of space for parking bikes is definitely going to be on the agenda
Come to Cambridge! Struggle to find a bike parking space because of all the clunkers obviously dumped everywhere! The be amazed when someone calmly comes along, unlocks what you thought was a wreck and cycles off on the underinflated tyres, chain squeaking, wheels wobbling and using their feet to brake.
i visited Copenhagen 4 years ago and it was the place that inspired me to start cycling regularly, although it does seem as if there is a genuine problem with people just dumping bikes.
i really wish we could even attempt to get one UK city so cycle friendly - although i must admit in Glasgow the number of bikes getting used does appear to be rising rapidly and combined with a cheap bike hire scheme i am noticing people using bikes more and more.
