After riding Mavic Ksyrium for the past 5yrs the time’s come to employ a new set of wheels. The Ksyrium rim’s are heavy, but the wheels are bombproof which I appreciate. I saw a comment from Road.cc Dave in a previous post to check out the Novatec Sprint – The weight on this wheelset is light (1325), lighter than Reynolds Attack and they come in sub £500. Regular spokes so they can be repaired, I’d say this is pretty good value.

With no reviews anywhere online I thought I’d ask if anyone has ridden them? Do they flex significantly? Are the hubs serviceable & well sealed? Are tyres easy to mount? Braking surfaces good? Could they be daily workhorses?

Interested to hear any comments about these wheels and any comparable wheels in the same weight/pricepoint.

    Looking at clinchers only btw.

    Cheers!

I have some Novatec hubs on a pair of Archetype rims, and they have been fine for me, but I’ve done less than 1500km on them. These are the first rims I’ve ever seen where the tubular version is heavier than the clincher version. The rim is quite narrow, too, compared to the 23-25mm currently in fashion.
