An interesting race to calculate these for… And just to see if substituting lesser value riders for the higher value riders works day day…

Obviusly in the above
Obviusly in the above scenario Contador, Wilkerman, Talansky, De Marchi, Van Den Broeck, Trofimov and Boeckmans stay in the whole race, but 😕 wow… I’m pretty sure there are thousands upon thousands of combinations that you could consider… 😕

Well… 😕 Here’s a preliminary shot at what could have been the highest scoring Standard (Non Purist) Team… There’s so many ways this could be done… 😕 The first graphic shows the teams with the active riders on that stage showing a checkmark… The 2nd one shows the points they would have scored on each stage… This particular scenario would have yielded 1465 points, if my calculations are correct… 😕The “Actual’ Best Team – Rich’s Rouleurs (Kingrolo) scored 936 points….

Twybaydos wrote:Now please work out a best team within budget for the whole competition using only available transfers without penalty points. It’s all well and good showing your highest scoring team in stage 3, but seeing as none of them scored on stage 2 it is somewhat irrelevant…My start to solve that puzzle would be the ‘Best Purist Team’ which I have above and which is displayed in the image below… I’d probably have to then switch riders 2 a day seeking the best scoring riders each day that I could swap making only two transfers a day… 😕 See for yourself below…
I think you’re absolutely right that Trofimov and Van Den Broucke and Westra would make that list since they made the ‘Best Purist Team’… Obviously, riders like Boeckmans would have to be transfered out some days to get the most bang for your buck for a Standard (Non-Purist Team), you’d have to start probably with Jungels on Stage 1, bring in Arndt and Van Rensburg for Stage 3, etc… but the ‘Best Purist Team’ is probably the basis to work out what you’re thinking about…Twybaydos wrote:I think Trofimov, Westra and VDB are likely to be in it a lot. The rest is puzzling.
The image below shows you the ‘Dream Team’ and below it the 2 riders you could transfer in each stage to maximize your points… I haven’t done the math(s) to figure out what that team would score with those transfers, but I think it more or less paints the picture as to what is possible…
