Most popular Bike Brands

    Although none of us were that surprised by the news story this week about the top 3 bike brands for sportives it did get me thinking. Although there are loads of Spesh, Trek and Giant bikes out there (I just need to look at my employers bike sheds), of the people I cycle with at weekends or on the few sportives I have done, their bikes have been Canyon, Cannondale, Plant-X and only 1 Giant.

    As I am a stats fan, would everyone be interested in doing our own survey and I’ll pull together the results in a couple of weeks. And to make our survey EVEN MORE comprehensive than theirs :), how about we take into account the n+1 factor and list which brand of bike you use for the below 3 types of road riding, e.g. (my entry below)

    Commute = Trek
    Sportive = Colnago
    Race = N/A

    If there is no appetite for this or if only a few respond then I’ll let this slowly disappear down the forum, however if we have a big enough sample size I’ll collate the results in a few weeks and publish the results.

    Cheers
    Tim

    Commute: BSA Javelin bitsa fixie. Although that’s currently off the road due to an errant chain ring! So, I’m back to my Raleigh Aero Max Pro singlespeed MTB-type thing (affectionately known as General Dog’s Body)

    Sunday Best: Planet-X Pro Carbon (doesn’t get used as much as I’d like – families, eh?!)
