I am looking to go from a 53/39 chainset to a compact as quite frankly I’m push on hills. At the moment I have a 105 octolink but don’t get a octolink compact 10spd. I have been looking at both shimano and sram but not sure on sram bbs. Is the gxp bb a standard English thread or not as it’s going on a ribble frame?

Depends whether or not you buy the English thread version.

As with most bbs, there are English and Italian versions available. All you need to do is tell the retailer which one you want.
