Just a few points of business before the season starts

1)The League we are using is the one with apostrophe’s named Forum’s Scorum’s with an ID of 76157

2)As well as the standard competitions we will also have a UCI type ranking system(to be reffered to as FSUCI) based on pts assigned for stages and competitions as follows:

    Grand Tour Overall:35,20,15,10,7,5,4,3,2,1
    Grand Tour Purist Overall:10,6,3,2,1
    Multi Stage Race Overall:10,6,3,2,1
    Multi Stage Race Overall Purist:5,4,3,2,1
    Autumn Classics/Spring Classics/Worlds/Commonwealths/Womens World Cup Overall Competitions(standard only):20,15,10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1
Every Stage(excluding TTT):3,2,1….ties will be broken by GC position within that competition and then within the game.
    Queen Stage in Giro/TDF/Vuelta:10,8,6,4,2,1

I’ll try and outline the points available for each competition prior to the start

    3)CUT OFF TIMES

a)Teams must be entered into the league on stage 1 of a tour/multi stage competition to be considered for the GC in that race.

b)Teams must be entered by STAGE ONE of the SPRING CLASSICS to be considered for GC in the Overall Competition.

c)Teams will be considered for stage FSUCI ranking points for stage 1,2,3 on the stage in which they enter……and FSUCI points for competition GC from the first race that they are entered for AT STAGE ONE.

    4) Below we will keep a record of the individual competition winners and add them to those of 2013

    Time to get your elbows
Time to get your elbows sharpened and skinsuits on as we move into Qatar…..and the humps on the camels at the racetrack are the only bumps we’ll see.Can the short TT specialists put enough time into the likes of Greipel and Viviani to win the overall….remember Cav took the title last season.

    Hold tight….Can it be?
    Yes

    Hold tight….Can it be?

Yes it can…..The Guv’nor Dave Atkinson is on the board with a 3rd place stage finish in Adelaide but was bested by Twybados(1st) and chrisdstripes(2nd).

silas chime held on well for the Forum’s Scorum’s TDU win by having the best stage score among the contenders thanks to his surprise trump card of having 4 transfers to use on the day…..stevemarks won the purist competition at a canter.

Where’s Uncle Pat & Heiny when you need them? I’m sure they’d find a legal loophole to let me take my rightful place at No.1.

I feel this may be the first
I feel this may be the first point of controversy as the domestique has taken over at the top of the Forum’s Scorum’s TDU….however he/she cannot be considered for overall TDU honours due to parachuting in at stage 5…..stage scores will be valid though in terms of FSUCI ranking points.
Although rules concerning this were not really outlined in the first post I feel it’s only fair and I’m sure that’s what we done last season…..and I will draw up the rules regarding this today.

Thankfully I’m NOT immediately behind which reduces the chances of anyone calling ‘Conflict of Interest’.

OK that’s the ‘legalities’ out of the way…..on with the racing:

A very close finish on Willunga Hill saw a familiar and ominous sight……stage win for Wig_Billy(236pts)followed by silas chime and the domestique(235pts each). The Commisars decided that silas chime be awarded 2nd due to his higher placing on GC(see ruling above)…….he also gained the Forum’s Scorum’s TDU Ochre Jersey and with it the overall lead on the season but it looks like we’re in for an exciting finish in Australia with 14pts covering the top four whilst stevemarks leads the purists with what looks like an unassailable 65pt lead.

    FSUCI rankings

    1)stevemarks 6
    2)silas chime 4

    Befitting a sprinters stage
Befitting a sprinters stage we had a podium made up of those from the middle of the field for Forum’s Scorum’s TDU stage 4 into Victor Harbour as STEVESPRO79 took the win from under the noses of livestrongnick(2nd) and Alan Tullett(3rd).

A welcome(for me!!) run of consistency has seen yours truly ray silvester take over the Ochre Jersey and Overall lead followed closely by silas chime and one time leader stevemarks….although less than 25pts cover the top 7.

stevemarks still has a healthy 50pt lead in the purist event and his nearest rival has’nt got Evans so unless Cuddles blows up I’d expect him to hold that.

    No Cuddles meant that
No Cuddles meant that stevemarks lost his ochre jersey in the Forum’s Scorum’s TDU and is replaced at the head of the overall by johnny2names thanks to a fine 3rd place finish into Campbelltown….he does retain the purist lead though.

Only willskill(1st with 220pts!!) and silas chime(2nd) could pip the new race and overall leader to the stage win breaking stevemarks’ 2 stage win streak that got his season off to such a flyer.

    Forum’s Scorum’s stage 2 into
Forum’s Scorum’s stage 2 into Stirling was a dead heat between Ghedebrav and stevemarks(both purist teams!!) whilst yours truly(ray silvester) rounded out the podium.

stevemarks has really shone so far and looks like the michelin man he’s got so may jerseys…..Forum’s Scorums TDU leader(his purists are running 3rd,Forum’s Scorum’s overall leader and FSUCI leader.

Those FSUCI stage points were awarded to stevemarks 3 as he is higher on GC even though it was a dead heat),Ghedebrav 2 and ray silvester 1

    Apologies…..the Road.c.c
Apologies…..the Road.c.c scrutineers miscalculated and it appears that obutterwick finished second pushing TERatcliffes 2 teams into 3rd and 4th on stage 1 of the Forum’s Scorum’s TDU…..that means that the current FSUCI rankings are as follows

    1)stevemarks 3pts
    2)obutterwick 2pts
    3)TERatcliffe 1pt
