Style is a very personal thing, but if sporty and understated is what floats your boat then De Marchi’s Pure Classic Women’s jersey is worth a look. It won’t look out of place on casual training rides or at more serious events and the contrasting colour accents are a nice touch. If you like your cycling kit to make a bolder fashion statement though it’s probably not the one for you, the clue’s in the ‘Classic’ bit.

The size medium supplied for test equated to about a UK10-12. The cut is long enough to accommodate a longer torso without any problems, with the shaped tail interacting nicely with shorts to prevent draughts. The fit is sufficiently sleek and form fitting to please speed demons, without being overly tight.

In wear, the Dry3Eco fabric was soft next to the skin, and wicked moisture well, giving a comfortable ride even in warm conditions. Dry3Eco is a fast drying fabric with 45% recycled fibre content. It’s always nice to see recycling technology at work in fabrics.

The front zip is a good length, allowing for decent ventilation, while the three ‘sweat proof’ rear pockets are of a good size, without being bulky or intrusive when in use. There’s also a handy zipped security pocket and reflective accents.

Also available in two other colours: Coral and Blue Steel (yes really).

Verdict

High quality, well designed top with understated good looks that performs well consistently. Nice to see recycled content fabric being used too.
