Ultegra Front Derailleur R8000 Sheared at Low Limit Screw

I have just finished building my bike back up after totally stripping it down and putting a full Ultegra mechanical groupset on.

I have come back from an initial tester ride to see that the front derailleur, which has been set up correctly, has sheared off at the low limit screw. How is this possible? This is a brand new, unused, high-quality component from the world’s leading manufacturer. I am in disbelief that it has broken after virtually no use.

    Anyone else experienced this?

    Manufacturing defect, send it
Manufacturing defect, send it back for a refund. Could be any number of reasons. Inconvenient but it won’t take long to fix.
