I thought they needed PP if it was not permeable.

    https://www.bristol247.com/news-and-features/news/council-bosses-were-warned-against-scrapping-cycle-lane-whiteladies-road/

In May last year the council unveiled its plans to remove the cycle lane, widening the pavements, and creating soft grass verges to soak up the rain. More than 1,000 people responded to a public consultation showing the removal plans were hugely unpopular — 94 per cent of respondents objected to removing the lane.

    I’ll wait till the article

I’ll wait till the article gets recycled in the 24/7, as the Post’s site is so slow and crashogenic, but I have a feeling this is probably to do with friction between council officers and Mayor Marvin, or whoever he had in Transport at the time, rather than the lane itself.

    Has the existing drainage
Has the existing drainage been cleared? Back when this first came up, I noticed (during a routine ride) that the drains were all blocked up. No mention of the existing drainage in the article and I’ve since moved away from Bristol.

Cheers – I could do with the extra ad revenue.

I suspect road.cc will pick up on this in due course anyhow as they’ve covered Whiteladies Road previously.
