Anyone else listen to “It’s A Fair Cop” (a radio 4 comedy programme).

This week’s episode https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001dwt9 was on traffic offences and speeding in particular. It was interesting to hear some of the attitudes from the audience: looking at the road rather than the speedo as an excuse for speeding; letting someone off because they were on 9 pts and would lose their job. Also a mention of Nick Freeman as well as the PCC who was done for speeding. Well worth a listen (as are all the episodes).

But what I really want to know is whether Mark Hodson plays traffic snooker.

    You’re OK with brown then?

My first car was a s**t brown mini.

My dad’s best mate used to be a senior civil servant in the Department of Transport.  He told me that they did some research (in either the 70s or early 80s) on which colour of car was safest.  The conclusion, as I understand it, was that it depended on conditions, so no one colour was best.  However, the clear conclusion was that brown was the worst colour.  I’ve never been able to stand up the veracity of this, so I don’t know if it was true or he was just winding me up.

I assume you mean the studio

I assume you mean the studio audience. I’m pretty sure many of them will have changed their mind as a result of attending and hopefully many listeners will have as well. Brilliant programme.
