I've read that although relatively flat, the route can catch you out if you go off too fast too soon. Can any local riders offer any tips or guidance to help me not get caught out? thanks

The one ‘big’ climb is Epping

The one ‘big’ climb is Epping High Road – it’s longish, but not a big gradient. Pace yourself up it – it comes early. Terrible surfaces all the way through, but especially in the bike lanes. The course is what we call ‘Essex flat’ – lots of ramps, but nothing more than 4% or so. Make sure you have enough food on you.

Fuel well, drink plenty of water (you may want to consider electrolyte tabs), grab a wheel when you can and have fun!
