Kickr Core Trainer…Cassette help

    Hello, I’m very new to cycling and due to being a little bit nervous about cycling outside, I bought a turbo trainer to help me get started! The trainer is a Wahoo Kickr Core direct drive. 

    I need to fit my own cassette and just need a bit of advice on the correct one to choose.

    I have a 2014 Specialized Dolce which uses a Shimano Sora HG-50 9 speed 11-30 cassette. 
    I’m having trouble finding an 11-30 type, but have seen lots of 11-32.

    Would it be fine to use an 11-32 instead of a 11-30 on my trainer? Thanks very much in advance-Hayley.

    Or just buy one when you buy the cassette – they’re dirt cheap.

    Have you got, or got access

    Have you got, or got access to, a toolkit with a Shimano-fit lockring tool?  If not, you will need to get someone to fit the cassette lockring for you.

    Enjoy the Kickr Core… got one myself… they are brilliant!

    Thanks so much for your advice, I’ve bought the 11-32 with a 1.8mm spacer and will give that a go ?

    No problem at all, assuming

    No problem at all, assuming it is also 9 speed, and you have the correct spacers fitted. If you want it to shift perfectly, you may need to tweak the indexing when the bike is on the trainer.
