Apex 1 Max Compatibility

Does anyone know if the Apex 1 rear derailleur on a cx/gravel bike (officially compatible with a 42t ring max) is actually "extendable" to work with a wider cassette, say 11-46, by using some extension kit or other? Front chainring is currently 40t but I was hoping to replace that as well, with a 42 if possible... Thanks to all for any contribution, H.
