Replacement helmet padding material advice please

    I have a few older Met helmets which are in fine condition, but the inner padding liners are spoiling away. I tried to get so cheap liner sets from ebay/China like this:

    I did one helmet out, but the pads aren’t very compressible. There are quite a few much more expensive kits on the market, but I could buy a new helmet for the cost of some of them.

    Does anyone have any recommendations for a thinnish simple generic material for padding a road bike helmet?

    I already have a massive bald spot, Rick Sanchez style, and the top of my head was sore after last nights 60km ride. Can’t loose anymore!

    I’ve just got replacement gel

    I’ve just got replacement gel pads for a MET helmet from BikeInn (after the originals turned to goo). Bit of a wait, but not too bad (and actually down to waiting on another item in the order), and very reasonable price.

    When I had a MET helmet the only place I could find replacement pads for it was direct from MET in Italy. They were reasonably priced and arrived quite quickly but they kept falling apart. Bought a different make helmet and made sure pads were readily available in the UK.

    My POC pads fell to bits,

    My POC pads fell to bits, replacements unobtainable.

    I have sown them up and they now still work.  New ones would be more comfortable, but they are enough for the scratchy velcro not to get me sore.

    Why not see if something from
    Why not see if something from the Giro range will work? Type “Giro replacement pads” into your favourite search engine and have a look around. Low cost option so it may be worth a punt.
