Dura Ace 7970 or Ultegra R8000 – which one to choose??

    Hi all
    I have a choice to make – 10spd Dura Ace 7970 Di2 or 11spd Ultegra R8000 mechanical – which one to choose, and why??

    Ultegra, no question. 7970 wasn’t that great and it’s over 10 years old. And 10 speed. Look for DA 9070 which is 11 speed and can be snapped up quite cheaply. I have it. It’s awesome.

    10 speed parts are getting
    10 speed parts are getting harder to get outside of Tiagra. 11 speed should be easy to get for a good few years yet

    Look at the replacement costs

    Look at the replacement costs of the consumables (chain rings, jockey whels, cassette), that might help you decide.
