Spring Cleaning – How bad is your bike?

    Here’s my lower headset bearing which was completely seized. It has been like this for at least a month but I finally got around to ordering new cartridges and swapping them out (did the top at the same time). 

    It was so bad that I couldn’t turn the bars. So, now that we’re out of winter (nearly), what spring cleaning (of your bike/kit) are you doing?

    I changed the oil on my Rohloff for the first time, on 1st March, going to try and remember the date.  It was surprisingly easy.

    After a bit of reading I discovered that I’m meant to clean and regrease the external gearbox after 500 km (maybe miles) which is a bit shorter than I might desire.  Not a difficult task mind, but annoyingly more than the fit and generally forget system I thought I was buying.
