I got a pair of DT Swiss R470db wheels on my Specialized Roubaix.  I’ve swapped them out for Hunt wheels, but I want to fit them on a bike with a rear wheel QR.  Anyone any idea how I get an adaptor to convert them from thru axle to QR?  I can’t find any info on the rear hub to help me  know what to order.

I had a similar issue with a set of DT Swiss DB24’s (so a 340 hub) check the axle length as mine was 142mm so the Nukeproof adapter wouldn’t fit (the front version however did). I ended up eBaying the rear adapters for around £25…..they retail I think around £35.

    It depends.

It might be as simple as getting a thru axle to QR converter. Something like this:

Thanks – sounds ideal for what I want.  I’ll give it a go.

It’ll add a little weight over an endcap conversion but it much less faff. I had something similar for my Exposure dynohub which converted it from 15mm to a standard QR.

There are cheaper options on eBay, for ease of use look for the ones with tiny rubber O-rings as these help retain the axle in the hub when you remove the wheel. Particularly welcome for that inevitable wet November evening puncture

Worth measuring the OLD of the hub and the rear spacing of the destination frame if you can – it should be 135mm but might be 142

Thanks – That’s the problem I have – it just says “Rear Hub – DT R470 Disc”.

Do I just need to change the End Caps, or does it need the axle changed as well?

R470db is a rim that DT Swiss make, not a wheel – the spokes and hubs could be from a different manufacturer.

If Specialized built them onto DT Swiss hubs they would likely be a 370 or derivative, in which case the end caps should pull off (calmp with wood or rubber in a vice and pull off).  New caps are relatively easy to get too, SJS Cycles might be a source.

That said I have seen those rims built onto Formula hubs and have no idea how to convert them, possibly same.
