London to Amsterdam

    Hey

I’m keen on cycling from London to Amsterdam (via harwich ferry crossing) at the end of summer (late Aug/early Sept) for 2 days with a day in Amsterdam.

Seems like all charity events have a hefty sponsorship requirement (which I exhausted last year for the marathon) or have a hefty fee that you can pay individually to just ride with the group.

Does anyone know of any London cycling clubs organising a ride like this or failing that, where I might be able to find some fellow riders who would be up for this trip?!

Would prefer to ride without any stuff (equipment, personal belongings etc) which is the benefit of going with a group and a designated van, but also keen to make this trip as cheap as possible…

    Any previous experience /tips welcome!!

    Thanks

    Georgia

London to Harwich is 85 miles

London to Harwich is 85 miles. It would be cheaper I assume to kit your bike with a rack and panniers and do it your self.  I understand the group ride/social element, but if costs are an issue then well prepared solo is the only option.

    A little Google search

This company charges £499 for one way trip(price includes overnight ferry-which is £41 for passenger plus bike(bunk or seat sleeping?Add £35 for bunk bed)) No overnight hotel in Amsterdam!

Buy a decent rack and panniers for £150, do it yourself, stay in nicer places and cycle back for less than one way organised tour!
