BMC Roadmachine: To buy or not to buy. What is the alternative?

Second post for advice on a new bike and BMC Roadmachine seems to be growing again on me. Assuming that fit is also right, any advice if it is a right long term choice? Love the option on the stem to lower to fit a racy profile or higher for an endurance... seems to be a good choice long term. Any BMC RM owners out there to give their feedback? Everyone complains about weight but at 8KG +/- how much more can you save given I'm not a pro-athlete and rather than spend £1000 to save grams on a bike, I can easily shed that weight at the gym. Thanks.
