    It will probably be heavier
It will probably be heavier than the Contend. I had a TCX SLR, it was fine on the road but didn’t handle quite as nicely as a dedicated road bike on the bends. Felt a bit perched on top of it, which is probably to be expected for a cross bike.

    I presume that your Contend

    I presume that your Contend has a compact chainset – 50/34  11×34?

The TCX will have a cyclo-cross friendly chainset – 46/36 12×28?, which is probably the main issue you will want to consider.

Believe that the SLR2 is a base model, but they seem to be well thought of.
