    Guys, really want to stress how important this is. I know lots of people are dissing cyclists about their behaviour on the roads, but we need to ignore that and make sure lots of people are talking about this.     It’s fine to teach it as part of the driving test.

    I don’t think it#’s worthwhile spending money on promoting the idea beyond that. THere’s too many bell ends around that object to the idea, so it is dangerous to ever cycle close enough to parked cars that it matters. It’s only really of value if 100% of drivers and passengers do it 100% of the time.

    You mean what you were taught

    You mean what you were taught in your driving test? over the shoulder check and using the mirrors together.

    it’s bollocks because it doesn’t fully explain the why, just reaching with the other hand isn’t sufficient.

    And you’re preaching to people who are already vigilant for such.
