    Hi

I have a set of Campagnolo Record hubs. Currently built on to Mavic CXP33s.

    Unfortunately, they are 36 hole.

My dilemma is keep the hubs and rebuild onto new rims, preferably wide / tubeless or sell the wheels as they stand and buy some prebuilt like Mason or JRA Larks.

Does anyone have recommendation for new rims or wheelsets?

    Thanks

Those sansin hubs are just awesome. I had some on some mavic gl 330’s. The rims were bomb proof and the hubs maintenance proof. I only got rid of them when I stopped riding tubs for  few years

    I’m having my early 90s

I’m having my early 90s Sansin sealed hub rebuilt onto a new rim after I got mullered a week or so ago. 36 hole Mavic MA2, done tens of thousands of miles and still good to go but buckled beyond repair. Seeing if I can find another MA2.

If you think the hubs are worth rebulding on see how much it’s going to cost you. if it’s £100 more to buy the new wheels, re-use the campag hubs.

Ive got wheels that are a few years old with Campag (front….) hubs from the 60’s.

Mavic Open Pro will run a 28 as recommended, you can probably get away with a 32.

H Plus Son Archetypes have a good reputation and plenty run them on 32’s or wider as well, lots of threads on LFGSS etc. Confirms this.

Just carefully check the rear hubs under a strong light and magnifying glass for cracks, its not a Campag thing, just an old hub thing!
