Watching Dauphine

Turns out I'm going to be in France and less than 30 miles from the Col de La Colombiere when the Dauphine goes up it on the last stage. It seems like a great opportunity to go see the race. I know if it was the Tour, I could expect massive crowds, traffic jams, drunken Dutchmen etc. but I'm not sure what to expect given that it's the dauphine. Any old hands have some advice about whether or not to expect loads of traffic etc.? Thanks!
